Experience:

       Norwich Pharmaceuticals, Inc – Norwich, NY

Over a period of 30 months completed multiple capital projects, developed designs, hired professional services and managed 32 construction projects to completion. All projects were completed under the demanding Good Manufacturing Practices where special precautions are required to ensure pharmaceutical purity and quality.  Additionally, lead a project to streamline packaging components that included work with all aspects of the company from Regulatory, Marketing, Finance, Production through QA.

               GLOBALFOUNDRIES – Malta, NY

Commissioning representative for Facilities supporting nearly $1 Billion of expansion projects:  Developed the documentation closeout process with the GC and Document Control, modified the document coding system, created various tracking and logging systems (Site Flush Plan, Punch List Report Approval System, Site Critical Protocol Infraction, Work Around Log, document closeout structure).  Completed duties as Boiler Inspector Liaison, coordinated inspections and ensured all follow-ups were completed.  General construction walks looking for quality and safety issues.

Albany Molecular Research Incorporated – Rensselaer, NY

Project Manager for installation design for new chemical processing equipment in a classified environment.  Work included MEP, structural and process safety in an operating chemical facility.  Completed rupture disc analysis on two separate projects.

Long House Holdings - Cobleskill, NY

Redevelopment of a 460,000 defunct textile mill to become a multi-tenant use facility.  Completed Phase II Environmental Audit, Site Plan Review, Planning Board Reviews, initiated Start-Up NY listing for the site through SUNY Cobleskill and modified local ordinance to create a mall type permitting process to greatly reduce the amount of time needed for a new business to start operations in the facility.  Wrote and received a $750,000 grant through NY State Consolidated Funding Application (CFA).

Chobani Greek Yogurt – South Edmeston, NY

Various high speed projects including process and facility modifications. The work typically completed during operations as the brand growth did not allow for downtime. Work included design and implementation to modify all packaging lines, coordinate installation with new facility construction, HVAC modifications and packaging equipment selection and integration.  Created new filler rooms, designed and installed new product launch packaging line, new packaging component liaison with vendors. Completed a site master plan, infrastructure improvements and capital forecasting.  Production output of the facility increased by 300% during my tenure.

JH RhodesVernon, NY

Owner’s Representative to renovate and new facility that is three times the size of the existing facility.  Responsible for quality and cost of the project with close daily management.  Guided the development of the facility layout, input to change order requests by presenting alternatives and check estimates, managed various owner driven extras, worked to develop equipment modifications to multi-purpose equipment.  Brought grant monies to the project to increase electrical power and distribution where the grant amount covered management fees.

Covidien Hobart, NY

Containment Study, Fluid Bed Dryer Installation Study included process flow, complete layouts, code analysis, estimates, schedule and proposals.  This work included the replacement of dated control systems and major equipment modifications.

Cornell UniversityIthaca, NY

Duffield Hall Process Chilled Water System Upgrade.  Cost estimate to replace the pure water system throughout the nanotech lab.

Norwich Pharmaceuticals - Norwich, NY

Conducted Plant Engineer duties while Norwich completed a search for a replacement engineer.  Duties included Master Planning a production suite and process flows, estimating construction costs and schedule development. Contract project manager of a fluid bed dryer and high shear granulator installation on a fast track project schedule. Installation and validation of small blister line with vision system. Authored and executed validation protocols for packaging line installations and modifications. Oversight on designs for locker room modifications.

Chenango County – Norwich, NY

Developed concepts for and authored report of an old jail building re-use study and completed MEP designs for a 12,000 sq ft conversion of this historic jail site to county offices.  Designed a variable refrigerant flow HVAC system giving complete comfort control to each individual space in a multi-office environment and designed the electrical system for the gut and re-hab of the entire facility.

Lore Pak Pharmaceuticals - New South Berlin, NY

Purchase, conversion and start-up of a 44,000 square foot former school building now housing PharmAssist Labs and other contract pharma resource companies.  During the start-up process, specified and installed a new low-pressure steam boiler that had exceeded its useful life while saving $40,000 on the costs.  Replaced roofs and purchased annual natural gas and fuel oil contracts on the open market.

Procter & Gamble - Manti, Puerto Rico

Capital manager for the site as a Procter & Gamble employee. Process debugging of a $28 million expansion of a solid dose form facility in Manti, Puerto Rico. Prior to the site expansion lead the Site Master Plan effort. Various process improvement projects in blending, tanks farm for solvents and chemical manufacturing process improvements. 

Procter & Gamble - Norwich, NY

Responsible for the management of projects to renovation and update the High-Rise automated storage and retrieval system, potent compound facility used to bring Actonel to market 6 months ahead of schedule, site master plan, sampling & dispensing system, bar coding RF solution, packaging line improvements, asbestos abatement projects, chemical process projects.  Key individual on mapping the new product development process from API to finished dosage form used to bring new drugs to market.  Launched the MacrBID brand under the new guidelines.

Procter & Gamble - Norwich, NY

Maintenance manager of a pharmaceutical plant manufacturing and packaging operation.  Re-developed the mechanical maintenance training system and qualified 10 new mechanics under this system.  The site was sold however the system remains in use.
